Thomas Teaford's Life After High School

After high school, I graduated from YVC ('73) and WSU ('76). I then worked 27 years for the federal government, 14 years as a National Park Ranger in 4 National Parks (California, Nevada, and Washington) and 13 years as a BLM Law Enforcement Ranger/Patrol Captain (southern Arizona and central Oregon). I retired in 2007.

I married my wife Alicia in 1983 and we celebrated our 26th anniversary last September. We are semi empty-nesters in the central Oregon town of Prineville, where we have lived since 1995.

We have two grown children: Megan, (age 23, a 2008 Oregon State University grad currently working as a wildfire logistics coordinator for the US Forest Service in Prineville) and Jacob (age 21, currently a 3rd year software engineering major at Oregon Institute of Technology, Klamath Falls, Oreg).

These days, since Alicia is still working, I enjoy being a house husband and doing fun stuff like woodworking, collecting antique advertising, RV camping, fishing, hunting, and geo-caching. I work full time during the summer as a marine deputy for the Deschutes County Sheriff's Office in Bend, Oregon.

In 1988, having invited Christ into his heart he responded to God's calling of teaching others the word of God. Throughout the years, Dr. Bradford has been an avid student of the bible. He is a true living example of how God's grace works for those who have an ear to hear and learn, when having a true desire to live a faithful life for God. His testimony is full of rebelling against all church experience, and Christian values. Until he entered the presence of the Holy Spirit and experienced the love and redemptive power of Jesus Christ and the glory of God. Jennifer Hileman-Keep's Life

Jennifer Hileman-Keep is married to her best friend Steve Keep. The met in the summer of 2000, where Jennifer was selling organic vegetables at the Fremont Farmers Market in Seattle. A year later they were married and moved to north Everett where they currently reside. They have a daughter and two granddaughters who live in California. Their current dependent is a handsome shepherd mix dog named Charlie, who goes everywhere with them – even to church!

After teaching dance for many years to youth with developmental disabilities, Jennifer returned to college for a teaching degree. She has taught children with learning disabilities in elementary schools since 1995, and continues to enjoy her work.

Jennifer and Steve love to cook together and often serve up meals for church functions. They feel blessed to have an extended church family throughout the Puget Sound area that they met through their involvement in the Walk to Emmaus Christian experience.

P.S. You won’t find Jennifer or her twin sister Susan in the 1969-70 year book because their family moved to California that year. However, most of their school years were spent in Yakima and they still consider themselves Davis alumni. Go Pirates! (Sure beats the Tustin Tillers!)

Phyllis Baker Cartmel-Bio

A few months after high school graduation I got married and started a family. I have 2 beautiful daughters who have grown into lovely young women. When my daughters entered school , so did I. I received an associate degree in nursing from YVCC in 1980 and later completed my bachelor degree in nursing at University of Washington Bothell. Most of my 30 year nursing career has been spent working as a neonatal intensive care nurse. I have been working at Seattle Children’s hospital for the past 24 years in a variety of roles. Currently I am a nurse consultant in the facilities planning and design department. After being divorced and single for a few years I was fortunate enough to find my husband,Tim, who is my soul mate and best friend.

We just celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary this past summer with a trip to Italy. Tim and I are still working full time, but enjoy spending our free time with friends and family including our two adorable granddaughters. We also enjoy attending Mariner baseball games, combining wine tasting and travel, and exploring Puget sound on our boat “Little Darlin”. On a warm summer evening you are most likely to find us sitting in the marina, glass of wine in hand, mariner game on the radio and watching the sun set over the Olympics. It's a good life.
