After high school, I graduated from YVC ('73) and WSU ('76). I then worked 27 years for the federal government, 14 years as a National Park Ranger in 4 National Parks (California, Nevada, and Washington) and 13 years as a BLM Law Enforcement Ranger/Patrol Captain (southern Arizona and central Oregon). I retired in 2007.
I married my wife Alicia in 1983 and we celebrated our 26th anniversary last September. We are semi empty-nesters in the central Oregon town of Prineville, where we have lived since 1995.
We have two grown children: Megan, (age 23, a 2008 Oregon State University grad currently working as a wildfire logistics coordinator for the US Forest Service in Prineville) and Jacob (age 21, currently a 3rd year software engineering major at Oregon Institute of Technology, Klamath Falls, Oreg).
These days, since Alicia is still working, I enjoy being a house husband and doing fun stuff like woodworking, collecting antique advertising, RV camping, fishing, hunting, and geo-caching. I work full time during the summer as a marine deputy for the Deschutes County Sheriff's Office in Bend, Oregon.
