Suellen (Sexton) Boyd

Hi Debbie, here is my bio and attached pic is of me, my youngest son
Chris, husband Craig and three grandkids:

I've been a housewife most of my life. I married and divorced, went
back to college and got a double degree in Economics/business admin
and then remarried. I have 3 kids, a daughter Amy 33, and two sons
Brent, 29 and Chris 22; and three beautiful grandkids. I met my
husband when I was a single mom (had amy and brent) living in Spokane
finishing up my degree and we married and moved out in the country on
10 acres. We eventually moved to Klamath Falls because of his job (he
is a railroad engineer for Burlington Northern Santa Fe). We have
lived here about 15 years. We will celebrate our 25th wedding
anniversary this Dec. We were empty nesters but now we have two of
the cutest boxers in the world! I am working on a master's with a
focus on pastoral care to women. I lead Bible studies in my church
and love to study God's word.

Editor's Note: I don't think Sue could possibly have the cutest boxers in the world because I do:)

Chuck and Lois Lantz's-Gift to Our Classmates

The committee has been trying to figure out how to keep the price down on the reunion, how to make it easy for out of town folks, and what to think about in terms of the picnic food. We decided to let you bring your own but we have a HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT!

From Chuck and Lois: Chuck and Lois will donate (FREE to everyone) hamburgers and hot dogs and all the condiments through their new catering business, Chuck's Wagon Bar-B-&-Grill, (this is a new phase of our landscaping business), for Sunday at Ahtanum Park. This would be free for everyone. Our gift to our classmates and their families. We have a HUGE grill and would supply the cooks, too. We thought this would be easy, especially for those traveling. Of course, people might still want to bring their own stuff, but this would be there for them, too, if they so choose. Looking forward to seeing you soon. Lois (Weible) Lantz

Editor's NOte: Let me tell you...we are so appreciative. Thanks, Lois and Chuck.

Marianne Steuart Nelson-Shares Her Bio!

OK gang, here goes:

Marianne Steuart Nelson lives with her husband, Dave, and boxer mut, Bella, in a quiet, rural community about 40 miles north of San Diego. They recently completed building their dream home and have joined the growing ranks of House Poor Californians.

For a little history, after spending a fun-filled year at YVC in '70-'71, Marianne moved to the big city (Seattle) and married her boss. It must have been the right thing to do because they have been happily married for 35 years and have enjoyed living in several beautiful places: Colorado Springs, Portland and San Diego. Dave and Marianne have a 32-year old son who is an architect, who is recently married and living close by in Orange County. No grandchildren yet but we keep “pushing”. Marianne has worked for Wells Fargo for the past 23 years and is currently a Family Wealth Specialist, even though she has no wealth of her own!

Hope to see you all for the Big One (50th)!

Marianne Nelson

Editor's Note: Marianne's husband is having his class reunion this year, too and so sadly they cannot attend ours.

Terry Reams Speaks Up about Life

BIO OF TERRY REAMS

I was born and raised in Yakima, went to Barge Lincoln Elementary (even though I started first and second grades in Danvers Mass., my mothers home town area) , Washington Jr. High, then A.C. Davis Sr. High school. I went into the Marine Corps, during the Viet Nam era, for a couple years and graduated from school as a Mechanic on the F-4 fighter jets and then CH-46 Helicopter and was stationed on the CH-53 Helicopters in the Ugly Angels squadron of New River, N.C.
After my discharge from the Marines, I came home and I graduated from Yakima Valley College and also enlisted for a couple years in the Washington National Guard in communications to help with raising a family and going to college at the same time. I then graduated from J. M. Perry in 1976 from the Instrumentation Department and secured a job with Weyerhaeuser in Longview, WA. I worked there for 29 years, first as an Instrument Technician, and later added to that Industrial Electrician. In time I became the Electrical and Instrument Assistant Forman for 13 years and eventually on to RW Paper Companies Distributive Control Engineer for the remainder of my years of service as well as the medical first responder.
I married in 1972 to my loving wife Connie Dubuque and we had three great children, our oldest has now been in the Air Force for 15 years and is a Master Sgt. Our second son is a Computer Engineer for Intel and travels where ever needed in the world, our daughter is working on her Nursing degree and gave us our granddaughter Jade, whom has her grandfathers wrapped around her finger.
We now live in Castle Rock WA., on a small ranch (Red Dog Ranch) which at first, when the children were still at home, we had five horses and about 20 head of cattle, sheep, goats, chickens, rabbits etc.. Now that they are grown and on their own, we now have what I call an Antenna farm with 24 antennas and no animals to feed.
I now am involved in doing Emergency Response and Communication for the DEM of Cowlitz Co., RACES, ARES, ERC, CERT, Skywarn, Search and Rescue ELT as well as Project life saver and many Traffic Control Nets and serving as net control operator on many nets.
Some of my interests and hobbies are reenacting with the Civil War Marines, Continental Marines, Cowboy Action Shooting and fast Draw, and The Scottish Clan McGregor, hunting, hiking and my 50’s cars, reading, as well as shooting on my own shooting range.
I have been the Commandant and now the Chaplin for the Marine Corps League, as well as Resolutions officer, and Devil Dog Vice Commander, Honor and Color Guard Commander for the American Legion as will as Vice Commander, and competing in 50 Caliber Shooting Competitions, and was southwest Washington’s Bigfoot investigator.
Connie and I were the Kelso highlander festival and Parades Chairmen and still very active in that.

Terrianne (Day) Gaines-Her World!

I attended Seattle Pacific College (now University) after high school, and was graduated with a BA in music and education in 1974. I met my husband, Tom, in the college orchestra. We were married in July, 1974. I taught school for one year while he worked as a chemical engineer at Boeing. He then attended the UW School of Medicine. After being graduated from med school, we moved to El Paso, TX, where he completed a 5 year General Surgery residency at the Army Hospital there. From there, we lived outside Neurnberg, Germany for 2 years. Then we spent 2 years in Washington, D.C., where he completed a Fellowship in Cardio Thoracic Surgery. We finished up "our" time in the military in Denver, CO. In 1990, we moved to Knoxville, TN. where he has been a practicing heart surgeon for almost 20 years now.We have 4 children. Our oldest lives in Seattle. Her husband is a computer guy there. They have 2 daughters. Our second daughter lives in Huntsville, AL. Her husband does computer security for the U.S. Army at the Red Stone Arsenal. They have 2 girls and 2 boys. Our third daughter is soon leaving Raleigh, N.C., where her husband has completed - and become board certified in -- veterinary radiology. They will be moving to Nashville, TN. at the end of June. They have 2 sons. Our son is currently serving, again, in Iraq. They are stationed at Ft. Lewis. They have no children.

Editor's Note: Of course they met in the orchestra! We should get Terrianne to play a note or two at the reunion!

Margaret (Flathers) Mesaros-Her Story:)

I'm fortunate to be married to a wonderful man and we have three grown kids--a 27 year old son and daughters who are 23 and 24. All are great young adults--busy with good careers and happy lives.
Right after college I began teaching and have taught high school, middle school and elementary. I'm now an elementary school principal in the Edmonds School District in a school with a very diverse population and a large, talented staff.
Tom is president/owner of a consulting firm based in Seattle and our jobs don't leave a ton of time for other activities, but we both play tennis and golf, kayak, travel and are active in a large church in the university district.
My parents still live in Yakima and, at this point, I go home often to check in with them. I'm fortunate to have 4 sisters in the northwest and we're working together to help keep them in their own home for as long as possible.
It's been fun to work on the reunion committee and I look forward to seeing Davis friends at our 40th reunion this summer!

Productive Night!

Okay, if you missing Davis Pirates get a call from me would you please act excited? Pretty please with cream and sugar on it? I have been on line and on the phone for another 4 hours tonight and would love for you to say, I am so excited you found me. Let's work on that, shall we? Because after 4 hours of hunting for you, I can tell you I am thrilled to actually be speaking with you to the point of not even being able to pronounce actual words. Well come to think of it, maybe that's why you're not so excited. You can't understand a word I say. All right then, you're forgiven!

Okay, having vented that, I can tell you that I located a number of people this evening......Minnie McDuffy Coleman, Pauline Culbertson, leads on Nancy Leonard Quarels, Glen Bonner's sis, Larry Darby's Mom and Dad, located Candy Hunziker Baker, and leads on Howard Dochow. Kim Schiffner is in Selah with an unlisted phone number. Please help!

I'm using Dex Knows, People Finders, Tax Records, 411, Classmates.com, Alumni Website, MyLife, Facebook, Google, Bing, and anything else that might work.

HELP!

Please Send Your Bios!

To all my classmates: please follow suit and send in your bios and a pic. If no picture, then your bio.

You may think you have the most unamazing and uninteresting life in the world, but I can tell you that this group would be interested in reading your story. Not a day goes by that someone doesn't check on the blog for updates. I would prefer the updates and bios to be written by you so we know your stories and can celebrate your life, not mourn your passing.

Cheers to you all, old friends. Have a fabulous Easter.

Look forward to seeing every one of you. Editor Debbie

A Bio from Diana Shelton

I moved to Seattle in '72 and lived there until '78 when I decided to move to Hawaii where I met my husband, yes on the beach at Waikiki of all places.
We have 3 children, a boy and 2 girls, and 1 grandson, who have given my life such blessings. We moved back to Washington in 1990 and have lived in Port Orchard ever since.
I was fortunate to be able to stay home with my children when they were little. I started working at a dance studio 12 years ago and I am still there.
I'm looking forward to seeing everyone at our reunion, it has brought back such good memories as I try to remember everyones faces. I really need to get my yearbook out.

Editor's Note: A great idea for all of you!

The Bio for Cathy Gregson Geiseke

I've been married 34 years to a wonderful man I met dragging the ave. But I have to confess I'm a trader he was from Ike....lol. We have 2 kids, Ryan 33 and Kimber 29. Two grandkids Garrett 3 and Chloe 8. I've never left Yakima. I know pretty boring ....huh? I'm a breast cancer survivor....twice. Once in 1990 and again in 2004. I didn't attend our first reunion because I was pregnant. I know now that was a silly reason. Then for our 20th I was going through chemotherapy and was afraid I'd be bald. I did attend our 30th and had a great time and am looking forward to this one. I just wish I hadn't been so shy back in the day I could have had a lot more fun....lol. Can't wait to see everyone. Cathy Gregson Gieseke

Steve Defoe Adds His Bio

Recent events have moved me to reach out to old friends, and it feels good. It seems that sharing information with each other is therapeutic, so here is mine. Married 25 years to a wonderful woman. Two step children, four grand kids (three boys and a princess). I have been a lawyer for 14 years and take great satisfaction in helping others in their time of need. My great passions (besides my wife) is wood working, and collecting and listening to music (iPod junkie). We have a cabin about 15 miles from Snoqualmie Pass summit and spend every weekend from May to November drinking wine, sitting in the hot tub and watching the trees grow. I look forward to reconnecting prior to and at the reunion, and hopefully stay connected over the years. My best wishes to all. Steve Defoe
